It’s Ric’s first day at work. During a smoke break, he steps out of the office to continue studying his theater script. Ric dreams of becoming an actor, but when Tomás, the director, shows up offering a cigarette, their conversation about past, present, and future dreams makes Ric realize that everything he planned might change. The arrival of the elderly Daniel, soon to retire, deepens the young man’s doubts.

Francesco Cocco was born in Nuoro, Italy, in 1978. He studied at the Irish Film Academy in Dublin and at the Metropolis C.E. Film School in Madrid. He wrote, directed, and produced his first short films in Ireland before moving to Madrid, where he continued developing his work.

His films have received hundreds of selections and awards, including screenings at the Malaga Festival, Almagro, FESCIGU, IBICINE, and the Festival de JAEN against gender violence. He has also been a finalist at the Premios Fugaz and featured on the LA Shorts platform.

Currently, he teaches Film Acting at Estudio V in Madrid. Among his notable works are Violeta (2013), Llueve (2014), Mariquita (2016), Agua y Jabón (2018), and Shakespeare in Smoke (2023).
