Marco is an introverted nd solitary man, haunted and traumatized by his past. He has made life choices guided by science and reason, pursuing a career as a medical researcher and rejecting the upbringing and strange beliefs instilled by his mother, rooted in ancient legends, superstitions, and old customs.
Despite his decision to live a life of solitude, meeting Maria, a young woman suffering from a severe illness, forces him to question everything he thought he knew. When the science and medical technology to which he has devoted his life fail, Marco is pushed to find an extreme solution.
